EVENT / COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course will provide detailed knowledge around PRF - Platelet Rich Fibrin and GBR (Guided Bone Regeneration). Participants will be helped to build up understanding from the basic to advanced level during the course. This will include understanding the rationale and biologic basis for PRF, current concepts and future prospects, differences between & clinical applications of PRF, GPRF, L-PRF and A-PRF, use of PRF in tissue grafting, techniques and innovations in venipuncture as well as hands-on venipuncture and bone grafting with PRF, GPRF, L- PRF and A-PRF.

The course will also cover GBR - Guided Bone Regeneration including biologic principles, bio materials, socket grafting, use of membranes, ridge augmentation, growth factors, clinical techniques and hands-on GBR with implant placement on models and pig jaws.

Course Aim

The aim of the course is to provide participating dental professionals with continuing dental education and training to enable them to competently use the concepts and application of PRF & GBR in a variety of clinical situations that they are indicated for.

Course Objectives

To introduce participants to the basic to advanced information and knowledge of PRF - Platelet Rich Fibrin and GBR (Guided Bone Regeneration).

  • To understand the rationale and biologic basis for PRF, current concepts and future prospective uses.
  • To appreciate the differences between & clinical applications of PRF, GPRF, L-PRF and A-PRF
  • To understand use of PRF in tissue grafting and techniques and innovations in venipuncture
  • To perform hands-on venipuncture and bone grafting with PRF, GPRF, L- PRF and A-PRF.
  • To understand biologic principles of GBR, related bio materials and their use, socket grafting, use of membranes as well as ridge augmentation, growth factors and clinical techniques.
  • To perform hands-on GBR with implant placement on models and pig jaws.

Course Outcomes

By the end of the course participants will:

  • Have in depth knowledge of PRF - Platelet Rich Fibrin including the rationale and biologic basis for PRF, current concepts and future prospective uses.
  • Be able to appreciate the differences between & clinical applications of PRF, GPRF, L-PRF and A-PRF
  • Understand use of PRF in tissue grafting and techniques and innovations in venipuncture
  • Have performed hands-on venipuncture and bone grafting with PRF, GPRF, L- PRF and A-PRF and would be able to apply the learning in clinical practice.
  • Understand biologic principles of GBR, related bio materials and their use, socket grafting, use of membranes as well as ridge augmentation, growth factors and clinical techniques.

Have performed hands-on GBR with implant placement on models and pig jaws and would be able to apply the learning in clinical practice.

THE TRAINER

Dr. Panjali

Dr. Panjali is a graduate from New York University. He received his post graduate training in dental implants from Germany 1992. In 2004, he continued his training in Implant Dentistry at New York University and has a Master’s Degree in Oral Implantology, Frankfurt University, Germany.

Dr Panjali is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, and Diplomat of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is an active member of several dental organizations and has been lecturing on Dental Implants nationally and internationally since 1996. He has trained well over 700 dentists within the US and over a thousand dentists worldwide.

Joseph Choukroun, MD

Dr. Joseph Choukroun is a world renowned researcher.
He invented the PRF® technique in year 2000 that has revolutionized not only oral & dental surgery but also many other branches of medical & healthcare practice.

He is a widely published author of several scientific and clinical papers and an international speaker.

He received his MD in 1979 in Montpel- lier, France and specialized in Anesthesiology and Pain Control.

He is also the President of the Syfac congress: International Symposium on Growth Factors.
